My wife, Carolyn Ruth, and I have two married children,
John Jr., and Mary Elizabeth Anderson. They and their
spouses reside in Oklahoma.
Concerning formal education, I was graduated from
Central Bible College, Springfield, MO, with a Bachelor of
Arts in Bible. In addition, I received a Master of Divinity
from Nazarene Theological Seminary, Kansas City. Also earned
were a Master of Arts in Religious Education and a Doctor of
Ministry in Church and Education from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary, Fort Worth.
I was ordained by the Southern Missouri District of the
Assemblies of God in 1964. I pastored in the Southern
Missouri District, the North Texas District and the Arizona
District for a total of eleven years.
My military career consisted of U S Naval Reserve duty,
three years active duty in the U S Navy, three years active
duty as an Army Chaplain (one year in Viet Nam), and fifteen
years in the Texas Army National Guard and the Army Reserve.
Military awards include The Bronze Star Medal, Army
Commendation Medal (two awards), Army Reserve Components
Achievement Medal (two awards), National Defense Service
Medal (two awards), U S Navy Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam
Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Texas Faithful
Service Medal, Texas Medal of Merit, and Meritorious Service
Medal. I retired from the Army Reserve as a Colonel in 1988.
I taught in two Bible colleges for a total of five and
a half years. Courses were taught in the areas of Bible,
Marriage and the Home, Theology, Christian Education, and
Philosophy of Education.
About five years were spent in Christian School
Administration, grades kindergarten through twelve. This
included helping found one school, reorganizing one school
and crisis management in another.
I have some mass media experience, including radio,
television and writing. Writings include the following
electronic books: ESSAYS EXPOSING THE MYTHS OF POLITICAL
CORRECTNESS; HOW TO RAISE YOUR SELF-ESTEEM USING PROVEN
BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES; HOW TO GET YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED; THE
ASTONISHING PARABLES OF JESUS; THEY ALL LAUGHED AT ME WHEN I
SAID THAT I WAS GOING TO WRITE A JOKE BOOK; and THE TEN
COMMANDMENTS. I also wrote these electronic booklets: JESUS
THE MASTER TEACHER; ALCOHOLISM AND ITS CURE; A CHRISTIAN
PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION; ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS OF THE BIBLE:
A BRIEF CRITIQUE; THE CONVERSION OF PAUL; ONLY ONE PAUL;
and ARTICLES (CONCERNING MAILORDER).
I am a life member of The National Guard Association of
Texas (# 7824), and The Reserve Association of the United
States (# 0436734). I am a past member of the National
Association of Evangelicals, National Guard Association of
the United States, Christian Association for Psychological
Studies, American Scientific Affiliation (Associate), and
Military Chaplains Association.
